What Ear Rating means
Ear Rating is a personal growth signal from 0–2000. It combines accuracy, response speed, difficulty, and sample-size confidence. Early results are pulled toward the middle so a handful of questions cannot create a wild score.
Ratings may rise or fall. They are not global percentiles, rankings, clinical hearing results, or measures of musical worth.
Audio approach
Tones are generated in your browser with the Web Audio API using A4 = 440 Hz and twelve-tone equal temperament. Short attack and release envelopes reduce clicks, and chord gain is normalized. Browser oscillators, headphones, speakers, and device latency do not behave exactly like acoustic instruments or clinical equipment.
Built around privacy
No account, server, analytics, or advertising code is required for the current app. Practice history stays in local storage until you export or remove it.
